Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Kitshelf (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License to Use the App

Beacon Light Investments grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Kitshelf on devices you own or control, for your own personal or business use, subject to the App Store's or Google Play's applicable usage rules.

3. Your Content

Everything you enter into Kitshelf — your gear registry, shutter-count logs, service history, shoot kits, and kit usage records — is yours. It's stored locally on your device only. Kitshelf has no backend and no sync service of its own; if you have iCloud Backup or Android's device backup enabled at the OS level, your data is included in that backup like any other app's local data, a setting controlled by your iCloud or Google account, not by Kitshelf. We do not access, host, or claim any ownership over your content. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

4. Purchases

Kitshelf offers a free tier — up to 8 active registry items, with full access to shutter logging, service history, kits, and the value ledger — and a single, one-time "Lifetime Unlock" purchase that removes the item cap and enables Insurance PDF generation. This is not a subscription and does not auto-renew or recur. Editing, deleting, and exporting your own data (CSV export and full backup) is always free, on every tier, regardless of unlock status. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are governed entirely by the App Store's or Google Play's own refund policies — Beacon Light Investments does not process payments or refunds directly.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App except as permitted by law, and not to use the App for any unlawful purpose.

6. Insurance & Valuation Disclaimer

Kitshelf's Value Ledger and Insurance PDF are formatted summaries of the information you enter — they are not appraisals, and Beacon Light Investments makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of any purchase price, replacement value, or other figure you record. Kitshelf does not guarantee that any insurer, buyer, or authority will accept a generated PDF as documentation. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for confirming its acceptability with any third party who requests it.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beacon Light Investments shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including any loss of data stored on your device.

9. Changes to the App or These Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. If these Terms change materially, the "Effective date" above will be updated. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Data already stored locally on your device remains yours; use "Delete All My Data" in Settings to remove it.
