A record-keeping system for a working photographer's gear, built to answer the question memory can't.
A working photographer's gear — bodies, lenses, flashes, supports, filters — accumulates serial numbers, service records, and shutter counts that nobody wants to reconstruct from memory when an insurer, a buyer, or a police report asks for them.
Kitshelf centralizes that record-keeping into one place, kept current a few seconds at a time, so the documentation already exists the moment it's needed.
What we believe
Everything runs on your device
No backend, no account, no third-party sync service of any kind.
Works with no signal
Logging a shutter count backstage at a wedding with no signal works exactly like doing it at a desk.
Your data belongs to you
No analytics, no telemetry, no ad SDKs. Getting your own data back out — CSV or a full backup — is never a paid feature.
One codebase, both stores
iOS and Android from a single build, so the app looks and feels native and correct at every size, light and dark.
Editing and deleting are always free
Accurate records matter more than feature tiers — nothing about fixing or removing your own entries is ever gated.
Who it's for
A working or serious hobbyist photographer who owns enough gear — multiple bodies, several lenses, flashes, supports — that "which serial number is which lens" and "when did I last get this body's sensor cleaned" aren't answerable from memory.
