Privacy Policy

Summary
Kitshelf is an offline-first camera gear log. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal data. Everything you enter — your gear registry, shutter-count logs, service history, shoot kits, and kit usage records — stays in a database on your device only, unless you take an explicit action to export or share it.

What Leaves Your Device
Nothing, unless you take an explicit action to send it somewhere: exporting a CSV file, a full backup file, or an insurance PDF hands that file to your device's own share sheet. Where it goes from there — email, cloud storage, AirDrop, a messaging app — is entirely your choice. Kitshelf has no server to send it to on its own.
Kitshelf has no backend, no user accounts, and no sync service of any kind. It does not know who you are.
What Kitshelf Does Not Do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
- No crash-reporting service that transmits data off your device.
- No advertising, and no advertising or device identifiers are collected.
- No access to your camera, photo library, or location — Kitshelf never requests these permissions.
- No network access at all — the app does not declare an internet permission on Android, and initiates no network requests on either platform.
Device Backups
If you have iCloud Backup or Android's device backup enabled at the OS level, your Kitshelf data is included in that backup the same as any other app's local data, because it lives in the app's normal local storage. That backup is controlled by your iCloud or Google account settings, not by Kitshelf.
Deleting Your Data
Settings → "Delete All My Data" erases everything instantly, locally, with no network request and no account involved. Uninstalling the app has the same effect, since no copy of your data exists anywhere else.
Children's Privacy
Kitshelf is a gear-inventory utility with no content directed at children and no mechanism to collect any personal information from anyone, child or adult.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the "Effective date" above will be updated and the new version published at this same URL.
